The dangers of collars and crates. Here we focus on the dangers of collars and crates. Imagine if your dog was still attached to this collar. This scenario can happen quite easily when you think about it. It can happen when your dog turns around in the crate to get comfortable, or perhaps your dog sits up and leans against the side of the crate. The tag of the collar or even the buckle can slip between the bars and gets caught, tethering your dog to the bars of the crate. This can happen whether the crate door is open or closed.
Your dog may struggle frantically and manage to slip his collar off his head to safety or he may struggle frantically and not be able to release himself – only to eventually give up with exhaustion and die a slow painful and frightening death of strangulation.
If you use a crate for your dog, always take their collar off before putting them in there. If you are leaving the house, always take their collar off in case they decide to rest in their crate on their own accord.
Crate = No Collar ♥️
