With the weather heating up – remember the Five Second Rule: Place the back of your hand on the pavement.
If you cannot hold it there for five seconds, it’s too hot to walk your dog on it. So if you need to take your dog out and the pavement doesn’t pass this test, make sure you go somewhere shaded or grassy where they won’t hurt their paws.
And don’t forget to bring water and keep a close eye on them if they’ll be out there for a while.
