Dog and puppy trainer Isabelle Papé of Ringwood Dogs can help and advise on common behavioural problems that have become an ingrained habit over time. There is never a “Cure All” method for training dogs with habitual behavioural problems as each dog and owner have very different needs and expectations. However, by using the correct equipment whilst rewarding and focusing on the fantastic behaviour you do want, we can then begin the reinforcing cycle that helps your dog repeat the desired manners you want and leave the bad behaviours behind.
Dealing with a dog with habitual bad manners can be exhausting, but once your dog knows the basics and the new good habits are reinforced and incorporated into your daily life, your dog will become much more enjoyable and you’ll feel better in control!
Problem Behaviour Consultations
If your dog is displaying problem behaviour, Ringwood Dogs can help by addressing the cause of the problem as well as the behaviour problem itself.

The initial consultation will take about 1.5 – 2hrs where a full case history will be taken. Ringwood Dogs will look at all the factors affecting your dog and a personalised training programme, offering suitable behaviour modification exercises will be demonstrated and taught to you. All consultations come with detailed homework sheets and follow-up consultations are recommended as necessary. Problem behaviour dealt with by Ringwood Dogs are:
- General Bad Manners – stealing, jumping, leash-pulling, mouthing, attention seeking, etc
- Inappropriate Toileting
- Barking
- Attention Seeking Behaviour
- Destructive Behaviour
- Nervousness
- Separation Anxiety
Severe Behavioural Problems: Please note whilst Ringwood Dogs can help with many common behavioural problems – to comply with our insurance, complex behavioural issues such as aggression to other dogs or humans, severe anxiety, phobias etc will benefit from a full veterinary health check and referral to a registered canine behaviourist who has expertise in this field. Behaviourists will then work closely with you, your dog and your vet. Please get in touch for a full list of canine behaviourists in the local area.
