Dog and puppy trainer Isabelle Adams-Papé of Ringwood Dogs is passionate about training dogs to be well behaved members of the family and teaching owners to better communicate with their canine companions so that behavioural problems do not get out of control.
Isabelle gained her qualifications with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) and is a fully Accredited Trainer and Full Member of the IMDT and follows their Code of Ethics which means no force or punishment is used. She is also a Full Member of the International Society of Animal Professionals (ISAP).
You may be a new owner with a new dog and feeling rather overwhelmed or you may be an experienced owner with a dog who needs a refresher training session.
Isabelle uses training techniques based on common sense, repetition and consistency, which are rewarding for the dog and owner, helping to create a bond between both.
There is never a “Cure All” method for training dogs as each dog and owner have different needs and expectations. However, once your dog knows the basics and you incorporate these into your daily routine, life with your dog will become much more enjoyable and you’ll feel better in control!
Behavioural Consultations for your dog or puppy
If your dog is displaying problem behaviour, Ringwood Dogs can help by addressing the cause of the problem as well as the behaviour problem itself.
The initial consultation will take about 1.5 hrs where a full case history will be taken. Ringwood Dogs will look at all the factors affecting your dog and a personalised training programme, offering suitable behaviour modification exercises will be demonstrated by Isabelle. All consultations come with detailed homework sheets and follow-up consultations are recommended as necessary. Problem behaviour dealt with by Ringwood Dogs are:
- Destructive Behaviour
- Separation Anxiety
- Inappropriate Toileting
- General Bad Manners – stealing, jumping, leash-pulling, mouthing, attention seeking, etc
Please note while Isabelle can help with “mild aggression” behavioural problems, severe aggression often benefits from residential training where training can take place in a controlled environment. Ringwood Dogs does not offer this type of service but can recommend other trainers who can provide this type of training.
